Message from Aria:
My name is Aria Nakissa and I am an assistant professor of Islamic
studies and anthropology at Washington University in St. Louis,
with specialist knowledge on the Middle East and Southeast Asia
regions. My first book is titled "The Anthropology of Islamic Law:
Education, Ethics, and Legal Interpretation at Egypt's Al-Azhar".
It will be published by Oxford University Press in April of 2019.
Currently I am working on a second book about global projects to
reshape the norms and beliefs of Muslim populations across the
globe, giving special attention to interrelated projects on human
rights, counter-extremism, and Islamic reform.
